On the 14th of November 2010 it was the day of the LNPS official Open Day and 50 year celebrations.
It was great with lots of fun activities and things to do and see, there were jumping castles, food stalls, a peting zoo, raffle draws, new building tours and entertainment by students, among other things.
I really think there were not many things that could have been better, however it would have been better if I had won one of the treasure chests in the raffle.
One thing that was done really well was the entertainment by the students. Many people sat and watched and, everyone seemed to really enjoy it. I guess another thing that was done really well was the advertising for the Open Day, because a lot of people showed up to celebrate with us. -Jay21-

Hey there,
On Thursday the 11th, 2010. We got involved in a CSIRO Education Mini-Chem class which was aimed at about year nine high school students, we are year seven.
It was a great experience that has changed alot of knowledge in my brain. We used special tools and gadgets that made experiments work. My partner, tab22 and I got through most of the experiments, which we were proud of. We completed a total of three experiments in 90 minutes which the CSIRO instructor (provider of the whole experience) said was a great time.
Some of the experiments we did (a total of three) were: Carbon dioxide experiment, A Chemical Change experiment and a Making Electricity experiment. They included chemicals, powders, liquids, solids metals and solutions. -Jay21-

Heyy,
My thoughts on our Inquiry task are positive, because it has been a fun and enjoyable time for me. I made a great CD cover for our band which I was quite proud of. The experience of all this is great because now I feel like I have some understanding of the music industry. -Jay21-

Hi there,
This fortnights homework grid contains a task, which is a book review about the current book you are reading, and Im reading “When Courage Came to Call” by L.M. Fuge. This is a great book containing laughs, inspiring moments and even some sad moments, and mostly about kids trying to take back there city after raided by evil Inigish soldiers, these kids are amazing standing up for whats theres and all in the midst of this they will even have to learn to use a air rifle, pilot helicopters and make costly decisions. This book is great for teenagers, and is even written by a teenager, also in SA which I think is just amazing. I fully 110% reccomend people to read this book. -Jay21-

Hey there,
During term 4 we are going to be working on a Personal Research Project. As part of our Homework Grid for weeks 1 and 2 we have to decide upon a topic for our PRP and enter a blog post stating what topic we chose and why we chose it. I have chosen to research about The Commonwealth Games. There are a few reasons I was interested in this topic. Firstly, the Commonwealth Games are currently being held, so it is a topic which is relevant to many people at the moment. Secondly, I think there will be a lot of information available because the Commonwealth Games have such a long history. Lastly, I am interested in a lot of the sports that are played throughout The Games. I look forward to research more on this topic… and GO AUSTRALIA!!! xXxJay21xXx

For my homework this week I was asked to listen to a different radio station that I wouldnt normaly listen to, for about an hour of so. I thought it was a pretty cool station considering it played some new music and some old music, but I think I will stick with Nova 91.9 and 107.1 SAFM. xXxJay21xXx

This is a blog post including many different activities over Book week. First there was the parade, where everyone dressed up as a character from a book, the theme was supposed to be “under the story bridge” but not to many people did that theme. My friends and I came as the Pac-Man crew, including Pac-Man, Inky, Blinky, Pinky, Clyde and the leader of the ghosts Cobra Commander, which I dressed up as.
There was also a great and funny author called Michael Panckridge who told alot of funny storys and talked about his books. But at the end he chose a few people to do a quiz about sport, I was surprised I got only one wrong.
There was also our whelbeing groups were we went to elected classes with multi-aged students from around the school and made very weird looking shoes, but I loved the experience working with younger students.
This was pretty much book week and my enjoyable experiences about it……, See ya round ;D -xXxJay21xXx-

Today I saw a very persistant video on YouTube, it was about these guys who start to try and run on water. And they did it -weird enough- they used persistence, (they never gave up) resilience (because whenever they failed and fell on there faces, they bounced back and did do it) watch it, its called : Walk on Water (Liquid mountaineering)

For my homework I had a section where I had to write about how my high flyer has been going. I have enjoyed working on my high flyer because it’s challenging and a bit fun. I also thought that I should go for every high flyer because it also feels good knowing that you have achieved. My experiences up to date are mostly about talking in class about it and working on them like getting alot of statements and doing what it feels like extra homework but at the end of the day when you have completed it and you feel pretty good that you have done the work…. I guess it’s worth it.
